Ranch & Land Services in Hays County

San Marcos, Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Buda, Kyle - our closest neighbours, fifteen to forty-five minutes out.

The Ground Here

Hays County is really two counties, and I-35 is roughly the line between them.

West of it - Wimberley, Driftwood, Dripping Springs, Henly - is Hill Country. Limestone close to the surface, cedar on the slopes, and creek bottoms that flood hard and drain fast. Roads and building pads out there hit rock, which is why rock milling comes up far more often than people expect when they first call.

East of it - Kyle, Buda, Niederwald, Uhland and down along the San Marcos River - the soil deepens and starts to hold water instead of shedding it. That is pond, pasture and fencing ground, and it wants a different plan entirely.

Most of the acreage changing hands here is on the west side, bought by people moving out from Austin who want the land to look like the reason they bought it. That work is usually access and presentation first: a drive that survives its first wet season, a cleared view, an entrance that suits the house going up behind it.

What that means for the work

  • A different plan either side of I-35, because the ground is genuinely different
  • Cedar and brush clearing that opens views without stripping the slope
  • Rock milling where limestone stops a road or a pad
  • Ponds and stock tanks on the deeper soils east of the corridor
  • Fencing and pasture work for smaller acreage close in
